Hesham Gadah is a 5th year student majoring in Architectural Engineering at Penn State University. He is mostly expected to graduate with a Baccalaureate degree in Architectural Engineering(BAE) on May, 2017 and a Master of Engineering  Architectural Engineering(M.Eng) on August 2017.

One of the main reasons he chose Architectural Engineering is to have a focus in sustainability design. During his pervious internship experiences, he had the chance to work in close with HVAC engineers in which he learned how to design sufficient cooling and heating systems, calculating building loads and using building energy analysis and simulation software such us, Integrated Environmental Solutions (IES). Also, he had the chance to work in the property loss consulting in Thornton Tomasetti, Inc. as an intern. This experience allowed him to evaluate different properties damages and find the origin and causes. Part of his job was to produce reports and drawing to buildings owners in non-technical language which he found to be challenging. During his junior year, he worked on more than 16 projects that are related to architectural engineering. Theses projects included building design, heating and cooling calculations and HVAC equipment selection, Electrical/ lighting design, structural design and lastly, producing schedule for construction and budgets.

Aside from that, being the president of the Saudi Student Association in Penn State helped him in being more organized and to manage multiple tasks at once. He led a team of 8 students to monitor activities and Successfully planned and executed more than 25 events. Also, he was able with the help of the board members to organize canning trips to New York and Washington, DC to raise donations for THON. Being the president was a job that required time and effort which he was able to provide
